Environmental
Responsibility: As a PADI Diver, you join millions of others to
form a growing force that can and does make a difference in the effort to
preserve the underwater world. PADI courses encompass environmental
awareness and protection philosophies that emphasize the importance of
protecting fragile aquatic ecosystems. The worldwide PADI organization is
committed to preserving the aquatic environment for future generations.
Diving won’t survive without beautiful places to visit, and PADI Divers are
encouraged to take action with Project AWARE® and make every dive count for
a clean, healthy ocean planet.. |

Scuba Center is proud to be a REEF
Conservation Partner: Reef Environmental Education Foundation is a
grass-roots organization that seeks to conserve marine ecosystems by
educating, enlisting and enabling divers and other marine enthusiasts to
become active ocean stewards and citizen scientists. REEF was founded in
1990, out of growing concern about the health of the marine environment, and
the desire to provide the SCUBA diving community a way to contribute to the
understanding and protection of marine populations. REEF achieves this goal
primarily through its volunteer fish monitoring program, the REEF Fish
Survey Project. Participants in the Project not only learn about the
environment they are diving in, but they also produce valuable information.
Scientists, marine park staff, and the general public use the data that are
collected by REEF volunteers. |
REEF Conservation
Partners
serve as active centers of outreach and education for REEF. Activities
include offering REEF Fish Identification Courses and organizing survey
dives. Scuba Center also sells underwater paper, slates and related
fishwatching materials. |
