The PADI Enriched Air Diver Specialty eLearning course is designed to prepare you to dive with EAN.  Enriched Air Nitrox  (also known as EAN, Enriched Air, on Nitrox) is a mixture of nitrogen and oxygen that has a higher percentage of oxygen and a lower percentage of nitrogen than air.  Air is approximately 21% oxygen, while the most commonly used Nitrox mixture is 32% oxygen (also known as NOAA Nitrox I or EAN32). Diving with enriched air rather than standard air can extend your no decompression limits. Continue to develop your dive skills and experience even more of the underwater world. PADI eLearning is internet based (online) course work that you can access from anywhere via the world wide web. With PADI eLearning, you can sign-up and complete the knowledge-based dive training from the convenience of your home, office or on the road, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. However, during the course, you can access the support of a PADI Professional at Scuba Center by email or phone to get guidance and help about the topic you are studying.

What does it cover?
You’ll learn how use enriched air for no-stop recreational diving with an enriched air compatible dive computer while using enriched air with 22 to 40 percent oxygen; how to analyze the enriched air mix in your scuba cylinder and determine the maximum depth for the blend, how to set the enriched air percentage on your dive computer and how to monitor no-stop limits and oxygen exposure on the dive.
 
How does it work?

  • Student divers complete all knowledge development online. This includes an active slide presentation with supporting voiceover, photos, diagrams and links to associated video clips. Text from the manual appears in context and divers have access to an online version after completing the course.

  • Divers complete exercises and the knowledge review. The PADI eLearning system provides assessment, feedback and remediation.

  • After completing all components of the online course, student divers complete the PADI Enriched Air Diver exam. The system scores the exam, provides remediation and administers a retest for those who require it.

  • Similar to the PADI Open Water Diver Course Online, divers confirm learning and retention by completing a quick review in person with their instructor.

  • Divers complete the practical applications — dive planning, gas analysis, fill procedures, etc... at Scuba Center in Eagan.

How do I register for a class?
You can register for the PADI Enriched Air Diver eLearning course over the phone with a credit card (pre-payment required) or by stopping in at either Scuba Center location.
 

Upon completion of all online materials, contact our Eagan location to arrange the practical session.

What do I need to do before the practical session?:
Complete all portions of the PADI Enriched Air Diver Specialty eLearning online course. Upon completion, please print the eLearning Record to bring with you to the practical session. You need to complete a PADI Student Record File (which includes a Medical Statement).  If you answer yes to any of the medical history questions, we must require a signed physicians approval before you participate. You can download and review the Diver Medical | Participant Questionnaire. Please print a copy to take to your physician for their approval and signature if required.
