Philippines Island Hopping: Mar 7-21,
2024* |
|
The
Philippines have become one of the most popular Western Pacific destinations
over the last 15 years. They are ideally located within the coral triangle
for seeing unique and amazing critters. The coral triangle is the global
center of marine biodiversity, which contains the countries of Indonesia,
Papua New Guinea, and the Philippines. This area of the world contains 76%
of the world’s coral species, 6 of the world’s 7 marine turtle species, and
over 2,000 reef fish species.
Scuba Center has visited and dove
multiple areas in the Philippines over the last 10 years. The response from
our travelers has been; “When will you book another one”. It may be our most
requested exotic destination. |

6 nights Salaya Beach Houses: |
This
Scuba Center adventure begins in Dauin, Dumaguete. Welcome to Salaya Beach
Houses, a luxury dive resort situated at the crossroads of world-class
diving and island charm. They’ve worked tirelessly to create a resort
capable of catering to experienced divers, flexible enough for families,
private enough for couples, and designed to accommodate all of your needs.
From the accomodations to their fresh menus and wellness activities, Salaya
transcends the average beach resort and offers a one-of-a-kind experience in
the heart of the Coral Triangle.
Dine in comfort and mingle with
other guests at the pool bar, indulge with a bottle of wine at a private
beach side table, or enjoy our great food at Dahon restaurant. Whatever your
choice, Salaya Beach Houses offers you a variety of dining experiences to
tailor fit your holiday needs. After an exciting day diving, sunny afternoon
by the pool or trip around town, you can enjoy the sea views and gentle
ambiance of the pool bar. Offering a range of organic juices, soft drinks,
coffees, wines, beers and cocktails, the friendly staff will help you select
the perfect drink to complement your day. |
|
Salaya
Beach Houses is ideally positioned along the Dumaguete coast to give their
guests access to a huge variety of diving experiences. The shores of
Dumaguete are world famous for muck diving. With over 15 dive sites, they
provide divers with a wealth of the much-desired unusual macro critters.
Natural and artificial reefs give divers the chance to spot schooling
jacks and barracuda as well as a wealth of other wide-angle friendly
sights. Critters such as the Ambon Scorpionfish and Mototi Octopus
previously thought to have only been in Lembeh, are regularly being
spotted. There has been an influx of divers visiting Dumaguete to
photograph its diversely rich underwater subjects and seascapes.
Salaya’s in-house dive center has world class facilities dedicated to
photographers and an in-house Instructor who can take you through the
Underwater Photography Course, and look after your photography needs.
Whether you have a point-and-shoot or a Big-Rig they have you covered.

6 nights Amun Ini: |
The
trip then moves to our next destination at Amun Ini Beach Resort and Spa.
The resort is set on a 30,000 square meter property in the municipality of
Anda, Bohol province in the Philippines. The resort is built to provide a
breathtaking view of a crystal clear blue sea and white sand private
beach. We were last here in 2019 and all aspects of this resort (and
diving) were uniformly praised by our group. |
The
beach resort services offered at Amun Ini are designed to make sure your
stay will be a truly memorable one. There are a total of 16 spacious
rooms, all with a pebble floored porch and a view of the Bohol sea. Every
room has a flat screen TV, cable and internet service, mini-bar and a
bathroom with modern fixtures and a pocket garden.
The private
white sand beach stretches almost 1000 feet from end to end so there’s
more than enough sand and sun for all even when they’re fully booked. You
can snorkel or dive on the house reef directly in front of their
cove or simply relax in a hammock sipping a drink made from coconuts
harvested from trees right on the beach.
Among Amun Ini’s beach
resort services, the unexpected treat for most guests is the terrific food
served in the restaurant. Using mostly locally obtained ingredients, their
chefs have created a menu that pleases both the palate as well as the
eyes. Your culinary experience at Amun Ini will be a memorable complement
to your total Amun Ini experience. |
|
Skirted by a coral reef only a couple hundred yards away,
the seas around Amun Ini offer the best dive sites in Bohol today. There
are spectacular walls nearby that plunge straight down to the dark blue
depths. Whether you go for wreck diving, deep dives, or simply like to
explore the house reef and ogle its rich abundant life, they have it for
you. Our group will have the opportunity to work with the
Amun ini REEF RELIEF coral genesis (coral nursery) project. This project
helps restore coral in areas where natural disasters, fishing and
ecotourism industries have destroyed small sections of the coral reef
wall. |
